The Segment integration sends customer data and event tracking from Convor to your Segment workspace. Convor pushes events like conversations started, messages sent, and conversations closed to Segment, which then forwards them to any of your 400+ connected destinations including analytics tools, CRMs, and marketing platforms.
Prerequisites
- A Segment workspace with a configured source
- A Segment Write Key for your source
- Convor Growth plan or higher
Getting Your Write Key
In your Segment Dashboard, go to Sources, then Catalog. Create a new source (choose "JavaScript SDK" or any server-side source type). Once the source is created, open its settings and copy the Write Key from the API Keys section.

In your Convor dashboard, open Integrations → Segment. Enter your Write Key. Click Test Connection to verify the credentials, then save. Convor will begin sending events to Segment immediately.

Convor sends the following events to Segment. Each event includes relevant properties like conversation ID, visitor ID, and timestamp. You can use these events to build funnels, trigger workflows, and analyze customer support patterns across your analytics tools.

Troubleshooting
Warning
Segment Write Keys are source-specific. If events are not reaching your destinations, verify that the Write Key belongs to the correct source and that your destinations are connected to that source.
- Write key invalid: Verify the key matches the one in your Segment source settings. Regenerate the key if needed in the Segment Dashboard
- Events not appearing in destinations: Check that your Segment destinations are properly configured and that the source is sending events. Use Segment's Debugger tool to inspect incoming events
- Connection timeout: If Convor cannot reach Segment's API, check your server's outbound network rules. Segment's API endpoint is api.segment.io
