Connect an Instagram professional account through Meta authorization and handle direct messages from the Convor inbox.
Connect an Instagram professional account to Convor so incoming direct messages appear in your shared inbox and operators can reply without opening Instagram.
No developer setup required
Convor owns and maintains the Meta app, permissions, access tokens, webhook subscriptions, and signature verification. You do not need to create a Meta app, request App Review, generate an access token, or configure a webhook.
Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected. Convert the account to a professional account and link it to a Facebook Page before starting.
Convor lists only professional Instagram accounts linked to Facebook Pages included in the authorization. Use Authorize again to grant access to another Page or account.
After you choose an account, Convor:
Platform credentials are encrypted and are never displayed in the dashboard.
You can configure an optional greeting after the account is connected. This controls Convor's behavior and does not change the Instagram profile or Meta business settings.
| Feature | Description | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming direct messages | Instagram DMs appear as conversations in Convor | Supported |
| Operator replies | Reply from the Convor inbox | Supported |
| Profile details | Attach available Instagram profile data to the conversation | Supported |
| Media attachments | Receive supported Instagram messaging attachments | Supported |
| Connection validation | Check account access without sending a visible test message | Supported |
Confirm that it is a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. The Facebook account used during authorization must be able to manage that Page. Then click Authorize again, include the Page in the access selection, and approve all requested permissions.
The Page does not currently expose a linked Instagram professional account to Convor. Check the Page and Instagram account connection in Meta Business Suite, then authorize again.
Start the connection again and complete the Meta dialog without closing the window. Browser privacy extensions can interfere with Meta's authorization pages; temporarily allow Meta domains if the dialog does not open or finish.
Run Validate connection. If validation fails, reconnect the account. Reauthorization may be required after the authorizing user loses Page access or permissions are revoked in Meta settings.
An Instagram account can be connected to only one Convor organization at a time so inbound messages have one unambiguous destination. Disconnect it from the other organization first.
Click Disconnect on the integration page. Convor removes the organization connection and attempts to unsubscribe the account from Convor's Meta app. Existing conversation history remains in Convor, but new Instagram messages are no longer imported.
